A Delhi-based marketing specialist turned a routine flight booking into a viral joke after IndiGo’s website displayed a coupon “saving” of Rs 0. The post, shared by Amit Agarwal, shows the airline’s booking portal confirming a code was applied — then congratulating him for saving nothing.
A coupon that works but gives nothing
Agarwal posted a screenshot where IndiGo’s site flashes the message: “Congratulations! You saved Rs 0.0 by booking with #IndiGo directly.” Instead of a discount or any add-on, the portal presented zero as a win.
He leaned into the humour with a simple caption tagging the airline: “Thanks for the generosity, @IndiGo6E.”
The internet does what it does best
The screenshot quickly spread on X, crossing 101,000 views. Users reacted with disbelief and jokes, treating the “grand savings” as an accidental punchline.
Several replies referenced familiar meme culture, mocking the dramatic tone of the message. Others joked about framing the Rs 0 “milestone” as a financial achievement.
IndiGo responds to the viral post
IndiGo replied publicly, saying it was looking into the issue. The airline asked Agarwal to share his contact details and PNR via direct message so the team could check what happened.
It is still unclear whether the message came from a technical glitch, a pricing rule that nullified the coupon, or simply a quirky interface that displays a “savings” line even when the discount is zero.
For now, the episode stands as a reminder of modern online shopping logic: sometimes the coupon applies, the confetti flies — and the total stays exactly the same.
