In recent days, political debate has intensified following claims by Khan\u2019s legal team and party figures that he has faced delayed medical attention and prolonged isolation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A report submitted by Salman Safdar, described in court proceedings as an amicus curiae, said Khan has lost about 85% of vision in his right eye and raised concerns about access to medical treatment, according to details reported from the filing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Khan\u2019s sister, Aleema, has also filed a contempt petition against the Adiala jail superintendent, while PTI officials have alleged negligence by prison authorities, which the government has disputed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pakistan\u2019s Supreme Court ordered the formation of a medical board to examine Khan and set a February 16 deadline for the assessment, while also directing that he be allowed to speak with his children before that date, court reporting said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime Minister\u2019s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said Khan would be permitted to undergo an eye examination by a doctor of his choice and rejected allegations that complaints were ignored for months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
